Interpreting – English
I offer interpretation during activities where the presence of a sworn translator is required in case that a foreigner who does not speak Polish takes part in the activities such as:
court hearings
conclusion of a credit agreement at the bank
driving licence examination
matters at the registry office, foreigners’ office, embassies related to the registration of birth, marriage, applying for a visa, work permit, etc.
civil and church wedding.
For many years I have been involved in activities at the notary’s office such as the purchase and sale of an apartment, the signing of a development agreement, a preliminary and final agreement, the establishment of property separation, the granting of a power of attorney, occasional lease. I have repeatedly interpreted during court hearings in labour court, civil court and during criminal trials. I also developed interpreting skills during my post-graduate studies in conference interpreting, so I am comprehensively prepared to provide interpreting during meetings, training and official activities. The interpreter’s job is to render the content faithfully, but also to support communication and clarify cultural differences that may hinder understanding.
Types of interpreting
Consecutive interpreting -performed in the consecutive mode, i.e., the speaker first provides information, and the interpreter notes and memorizes the speech, and then interprets at appropriate intervals. It is most commonly used in courts and during business meetings.
Sight translation -he translator has a document in front of them and translates its contents on the fly, for example, a notarial deed, a court judgment, a form to be filled out at the office.
Simultaneous interpretation -it is most commonly used during conferences, interpreters in special booths translate speakers’ statements on the fly. A variation of simultaneous interpreting is whispered interpreting (or chuchotage), used e.g. during court hearings or at the meetings.
